TKE Alum Tenders Resignation

After serving on the House Corporation board for nine years, eight as president of the board; Jim Rummel '76 tendered his resignation from the board following the July 9th meeting.  Jim felt he had done his share helping Pi-TKE over the years of his excellent service to the house.  Jim recently acquired greater professional career responsibilities needing his additional time commitments.

Through Jim's leadership, Pi Chapter has been rejuvenated through increased membership, higher academic achievement, installation of new risk management processes, greater corporation financial management, and the successful million dollar capital campaign along with subsequent renovations to the chapter house.  Jim always championed to each new member and the active brothers' Pi Chapter's traditions, the meaning of brotherhood, leadership, and the personal responsibility required to keep Pi Chapter the respected fraternity it has continued to be at Penn State. In 2013 the alumni placed a bronze plaque in the chapter house foyer, dedicated to Jim's leadership. The board and all the brotherhood have been well served by the consistent leadership of Frater Rummel. His dedicated leadership skills will be missed. The board elected a new board president during a special email nomination and voting. The new president is Tom Becker '69. Tom has served on the board for six years, as a co-chairman for the successful capital campaign, construction supervisor for the recent renovations, editor for "Pieces of Pi," and most recently as Chapter Advisor to the actives. Andrew Tomaskevitch'13 was elected to replace Tom as the Actives' Chapter Advisor.

Also at the July 9th house corporation board of directors meeting, Andrew J. Tomaskevitch '13 was elected a member of the board. Andrew is a past Prytanis, having served during the year TKE National awarded Pi Chapter it's distinguished "Top TKE Chapter Award" for the academic year 2013-2014.
