TKE- Laying Low, And Doing Just FineWith all the increased scrutiny by everyone connected or watching fraternities at Penn State, the score card of houses under mandated closings/suspensions has added another one to its list - SAE, at the corner of Beaver and Pugh streets, will be closing for at least one year due to members violations uncovered by its alumni board.  The SAE alumni board moved quickly and told all to find other accommodations for this coming spring 2018 semester, closing the house on December 17, 2017.  Other PSU  fraternities at the start of the semester closed/suspended were: Beta Theta Pi; Alpha Chi Rho, Kappa Delta Rho, Phi Kappa Tau, Phi Mu Delta, Pi Kappa Phi, and Sigma Alpha Mu.  In the last two months five more have joined the list: Alpha Sigma Phi, Delta Tau Delta, Delta Upsilon, Pi Lambda Phi, and now Sigma Alpha Epsilon.  Total: 12.  All of these have had significant violations either/or all for drinking, drugs, abuse, hazing and or borough code violations with in their chapter houses

At TKE this year we are pleased to be breathing a lot easier with the house not being occupied and under constant scrutiny while we refurbish, renovate and recruit "better men for a better world".  On Sunday evening, December 3, Pi Chapter initiated 11 new members in a formal ceremony, complete with new robes in the chapter room.  An exceptionally well done ceremony was performed by our new officers who preceded the ceremony with an hour and half private practice.  Great start for a new group of officers and our newest members.  "GO TKE"  Following the ceremony the brothers toured the freshly painted common areas and the partially complete sanding of the first floor.  Many expressed enthusiasm and support for the new work being done on the physical plant; and were anxious to show off the house during the spring 2018 rush week.
