Congratulations on discovering the advantages of a dry house. Sorry it had to be forced on you, but you are to be commended for overcoming your adversity and making something positive out of it. One of the reasons I pledged TKE in 1942 was that it was a dry house. Although I was a town boy, TKE membership provided me with a university home. Im glad you again are offering that kind of home for Penn State students.

Met wife Jane at the Teke house on Valentine's Day 1949. We're enjoying our return to Happy Valley and our bi-annual Teke reunions. Good luck to all Fraters.

Same as last year -- we had our bi-annual reunion of WWII veterans (1945-50) early this fall. Had a good time. The TKE choral group serenaded.

Im one of three Brothers who opened the house in 1945. Still going strong. Make reunions every year and 1940s TEKE reunions every two years. My wife, Lavona Dewald 47 (Delta Gamma) died four years ago. Last year I move into an apartment and spend most of my time traveling in Europe. I was the second field secretary of TKE in 1946. Member of Knights of Apollo. I am very impressed with the turn around and progress you seem to be making. Keep up the good work.

Twenty fraters from the group known as the Tekes of the 1940s held their bi-annual reunion at the Nittany Lion Inn in September. Two actives were invited as dinner guests, but no visit to the House was scheduled. The Tekes of the 1940s have expressed repeated concerns about the lack of housekeeping and the general condition of the House when they made unannounced visits. Over the past twenty years this group has made major contributions that included new furniture and lamps, carpeting, lighting and flooring in the kitchen, repairs to the parking lot, etc. ""By"" Riley, who recently left $100,000 for the new bathrooms, was one of the Tekes of the 1940s. At the reunion, fraters said they would plan to visit the House again if and when actives demonstrate that they are taking better care of it. Larry Foster For the Tekes of the 1940s

Since Margarets death in May 2003, I have sold my home in King of Prussia and moved into a retirement home in Lansdale. I enjoy it very much. My brother and I have four tickets to the Big 10 home games. If everything goes right with our travel plans (and our health) I may drop in on October 4 for a few minutes before or after the game. It will be good to see some of the brothers from the 1940-1946 vintage. Hold the fort and keep your powder dry.

Your list of contributors has brought back fond memories of TKE. My roommate in 1934 became a great doctor; my classmates of 1938 have had illustrious careers; and the younger men of 1939-41 have provided hands on as well as financial support of the TKE house.

Still in Houston, missing the Northeast. I just passed the Texas bar in August and am now practicing law and business consulting, in addition to continuing to work for Fluor. 2007 promises to be a busy year. Happy New Year to everyone.

Working for a national consulting firm on Long Island that specializes in corporate expense management and procurement. Farkas just started working for my company part-time. So most of my time for the next month will be spent belittling him and making him do favors for me. I may even sue him for sexual harassment.

Well law school is just a bad memory now. I graduated just before Christmas from the University of Maryland. The job search continues but law school, for me, does not. Anybody have a lead in Houston?

This month, I graduated from Dartmouth College with a Masters in Engineering Management, an engineering and business hybrid degree offered at the Tuck School of Business. Also, I have accepted an offer to be analyst in the Gas and Power Marketing group at ExxonMobil in Houston, Texas. I will be relocating in the month of April, and it would be great to hear from fraters in Texas.
