Penn Staters should stamp their paw print on the calendar for June 1–3, 2018, and plan to attend We Are Weekend, on the University Park campus.

The Alumni Association will host We Are Weekend, a three-day celebration that’ll provide plenty of memorable moments to remind Penn Staters why the University holds a special place in their hearts.

We Are Weekend will replace Alumni Reunion Weekend, with changes made based on feedback from alumni surveys, Alumni Association members, and event evaluations. The three-day event aims to appeal to the wide-ranging interests and backgrounds of Penn State’s alumni, while continuing to celebrate and recognize the 50th Class and Penn State Pioneers. We Are Weekend offers all Penn Staters an opportunity to organize events based on shared interests and common college/campus affiliations.

Registration will open early 2018. Until then, the Alumni Association is encouraging Penn Staters to share their favorite Penn State memories and photos on our Facebook event page, and let everyone know what’s on your must-do list when you think “We Are.”

What you need to know now:

— Registration to open early 2018;

— Opportunity to organize events with affiliate groups, classmates, friends, and family;

— Customizable schedule;

— Open and inclusive to all Penn Staters;

— Several events will be held to celebrate and recognize the 50th Class (1968) and Penn State Pioneers

The Alumni Association will share additional information as registration nears. For now, mark your calendar for June 1-3, 2018, and plan to attend We Are Weekend.

Looking for a reason to travel to Happy Valley this fall and get together with a few TKE Brothers? Look no further.

Penn State’s 2018 Homecoming game will take place on Saturday, Oct. 13 when Michigan State visits Happy Valley. The announcement was made on Tuesday, Jan 16. After playing the Homecoming game in November, the contest returns to October. This past season, the Homecoming game was played on Nov. 11 against Rutgers. The contest could be a key tilt in the Big Ten East. Michigan State upset Penn State, 27-24, last season. No doubt Penn State coach James Franklin will use that as motivator when the teams meet at Beaver Stadium in October. That loss bounced the Nittany Lions from the Big Ten title chase and the second loss eliminated any chance they had from making the College Football Playoff. Michigan State has won four of five against Penn State. In 2016, the Nittany Lions stomped MSU, 45-12, at Beaver Stadium. The Spartans haven’t won in Happy Valley since 2014.
